Cruising through the streets of Milledgeville, Eatonton, and Sparta is always exciting, but sometimes you need a little extra something to get the perfect driving experience you seek. For some people, they need a luxurious interior, while others prefer the latest in automotive tech. If you're looking for unrivaled power, however, there's one vehicle that may be perfect.

The 2018 Ford Mustang has more power than you'll probably know what to do with, and that's just the beginning. The latest iteration of this classic muscle car is packed with power and other features that are bound to make every drive exciting. Find out if the new Mustang is right for you with our comprehensive 2018 Ford Mustang Review.

2018 Ford Mustang Engine Options

With the new Mustang, you'll have a few incredible engine options. The standard engine is a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder, which may sound tame for a muscle car, but its EcoBoost® Turbo capability puts its horsepower all the way up to 310 with 350 lb-ft of torque. This engine uses a transient overboost function to give you a little boost every time you shift gears, so the rush of a muscle car feels more real than ever.

Take your 2018 Mustang to the next level with the 5-liter V8 engine. With this bad boy, you can enjoy 460 horsepower with 420 lb-ft of torque. With dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection and low-pressure port fuel injection, this V8 is Ford's most advanced yet. Opt for one of the Shelby models, however, and you can push it even further. They each offer 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque for a truly powerful experience like no other.

2018 Mustang Performance

As you can imagine, the Mustang needs to be equipped with some pretty impressive performance features to handle all that power. One of the most impressive is the 10-speed automatic transmission. A lot of Mustang drivers prefer the manual shifter, but this automatic transmission is the most advanced yet with optimized upshift and downshift capabilities. With shift paddles on the wheel, you can always opt for manual control.

The new Mustang also features selectable drive modes. This allows you to change the way your Mustang drives on the fly to make sure it performs best in whatever environment you're in. There are five available modes: Normal, Snow/Wet, Sport, Track, and Drag Strip. That last one is new this year, so you won't find it unless you opt for the 2018 model.

Ford Mustang Handling

With all the power it has, the Mustang excels at going in a straight line without a doubt. Most drives require a bit more than that, however, so you need to know what the handling is like. Fortunately, the Mustang goes out of its way to create the kind of drive you're looking for. There are three modes you can choose from with the Selectable Electric Power-Assisted Steering system. The Comfort mode makes taking turns easier than ever while the Sport mode forces you to try a bit harder in order to emphasize that connection to the road. The Normal mode, of course, is a middle ground between the two.
