A midsize SUV has to accomplish a lot to catch the attention of many Milledgeville, Eatonton, and Sparta shoppers. It needs to sport a sleek design-not just look like a box on wheels. It must offer plenty of space so that people and cargo can fit comfortably when they need to, and of course, a powerful engine is a must.

In this car review, we'll cover these qualities and more as they relate to the 2018 Ford Edge. As you read, we hope you'll have a clearer picture of whether the Edge has what you need in a crossover vehicle. If you have any questions, drop us a line at Butler Ford Milledgeville!

2018 Edge: Exterior Features

The Powerful 2018 Ford EdgeWhen you walk up to the 2018 Edge for the first time, you won't be able to help but notice its distinctive exterior. In the base trim alone, you'll find smooth styling, sleek 18-inch wheels, and sporty dual exhaust tips that add balance and style to the vehicle's rear.

For the first time in 2018, the Edge adds a Sport Appearance package to its SEL trim which adds features that mimic the top-tier Sport trim. In place of the standard chrome highlights, a gray-painted grille darkens and emboldens the front facade. SEL Sport Appearance also adds 19-inch wheels and skid plates which compliment the Edge's eight inches of ground clearance to make this crossover highly capable as far as light off-roading.

Ford Edge Engine Performance Specs

There's an engine for everyone in the Ford Edge whether you prefer relaxed or rowdy driving. The bottom three trim levels use a standard 2.0L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder engine with 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque for solid acceleration in most driving situations.

However, you can coax even more power from this vehicle with the two available V6 engines. The 3.5L V6 engine delivers up to 280 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque and comes available in those same three lower-level trims. The top Sport trim, however, uses a 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 engine that has an incredible 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque on tap.

Need plenty of towing power? When equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package, the SEL and Titanium trims can tow up to 3,500 pounds. Whether you choose the 4-cylinder or the V6 engine, you'll have the capacity to tow a small speedboat or a pair of jet skis to your favorite weekend getaway location!

2018 Edge Interior Features & Measurements

2018 Ford Edge Interior TechnologyQuality SUVs need to provide comfort for the road ahead, and that's precisely what you'll find in the 2018 Edge. This vehicle seats up to five people across two rows, and the rear seat is impressively roomy. Full-size adults will have no problem finding space back there with headroom and legroom measuring more than 40 inches each.

Another factor adding to backseat comfort are the standard reclining rear seats which allow you to lean back a bit for a more relaxing ride. On the other hand, if you need to use the back seats for more storage, the EasyFold® second-row seats fold flat with an easy one-press release, coming standard in all but the base trim.
